Press: You make it Rock, we make it Roll – LD Systems DAVE 8 Roadie

LD Systems has once again realised its philosophy “pro audio in motion” with the ultra-compact DAVE 8 Roadie 2.1 system. This complete package, which is extremely easy to transport and comes with impressive features, stands out in mobile applications through astounding performance.

The difference between it and the DAVE8XS is the three connectors that can be combined with one another. One connector permits selection of an MP3 player or a guitar with a toggle switch. The mini PA also has a microphone connector, as well as a connector for a PC, keyboard or mixing desk. The satellites impress with their rugged front grilles, and the ergonomic handles on the subwoofer and the satellites now make the DAVE 8 Roadie an ideal companion for musicians.

The crystal clear sound, a frequency response of 45Hz – 19kHz, the conical 60° x 60° dispersion characteristic of the satellites, and a maximum sound-level pressure of 123dB make the DAVE 8 Roadie system a perfect solution for multimedia presentations, small events, solo entertainers, mobile discos, DJ and keyboard monitor systems, businesses, schools, home recording, and powerful listening enjoyment at home.

A Class AB power amplifier module in the band-pass subwoofer drives the system components with 350W RMS. Protection circuits against short-circuiting and overvoltage and a built-in limiter ensure dependable and reliable functionality. The 8″ subwoofer driver with a powerful ferrite magnet generates a precise bass foundation with high impulse fidelity. For clean, richly detailed mid and treble reproduction, the satellites are loaded with two 4″ speakers and a 1″ driver in a D’Appolito configuration.

The connector panel of the DAVE 8 Roadie offers the formats XLR, jack, RCA, and mini-jack for a multitude of signal sources and separate volume controls for the microphone, line, and hi-impedance inputs; the speaker outputs are SpeakOn-compatible. A dedicated subwoofer volume control permits perfect balancing of sub and satellites; a phase reverse switch and a power switch with indicator round out the features. The connector panel is side-mounted for easy accessibility – especially practical when the subwoofer is positioned against a wall.

The satellites are conveniently mountable on speaker stands; the subwoofer has an M20 flange for spacer tubes. Anyone looking for a versatile, easily transportable, compact system with impressive performance that represents absolutely convincing value-for-money should give the LD DAVE 8 Roadie a listen – it will put the “roll” in your “rock & roll”!

dave8roadie_7Optionally, there are two practical sets available for the DAVE 8 Roadie. The LDDAVE8SET1 offers protective transport bags with a rugged dolly for trouble-free transportation of the system even over extended distances. The LDDAVE8SET2 consists of two steel speaker stands developed especially for the system. The set also includes two speaker cables. The matching carrying bags protect the stands from scratches and dirt.

The LD DAVE 8 Roadie is available at prices starting from € 469.
