Green electricity

In the Sustainability Report Q1/Q2 2021, we documented the expansion of our photovoltaic system of solar rooftop panels. Now it’s time to deliver results:

  • On average 306 kWh of sustainable energy per day (with the current expansion stage).
  • Extrapolated to one year ~ 508 MWh of green electricity.
  • Production of more than 4,500 MWh of green electricity since the first solar panels were put into operation in 2008.

This corresponds to a CO2 saving of 1,817 tonnes – or, in other words:

  • 626,403 litres of heating oil
  • 908,285 m3 of natural gas
  • 642 tonnes of hard coal

Expansion of e-mobility at the Neu-Anspach site

  • Increase in e-charging stations from 2 to 11; each station features two charging points
  • E-bike charging stations
  • JobRad offer for employees resumed

30,000 new hard-working employees

  • 30,000 bees: “The Gravity Bee-G Hive”, “The Cameo-Lumen Bee Hive” and “The LD Systems Sub Buzz Hive”.
  • They live in three hives behind our main building in Neu-Anspach, and contribute their important part to the biodiversity of the region

Cameo – The forest lights up

  • Provision of exclusively battery-powered Cameo spotlights, for five forest concerts by the Cologne band Humblo to let the dark forest stage shine in atmospheric light.
  • The band’s aim: to draw people’s attention to the protection of the forest as a central ecosystem.
  • The forest concerts were organised in cooperation with the Bergwaldprojekt e.V. and the climate-neutral mobile phone provider WEtell.

German Environmental Award

  • Use of our Cameo OPUS X Profile and F4 FC spotlights at the German Environmental Award ceremony.
  • The general contractor for the event’s technology was L&S GmbH & Co. KG, who were able to convince organisers with a special “Green Event” concept for the event, including energy-saving LED walls and spotlights.

2022 – What’s coming up

  • More sustainable packaging: currently in the research phase. Planned switch from pressure seal bags for spare parts and accessories to recycled plastic.
  • Measuring our CO2 footprint
