Press: Excellent Design Quality: Adam Hall Group Products win the 2016 Red Dot Award!

Adam Hall Group has won four prizes: CURV 500® and Maui® 5 were awarded the Red Dot, as was the complete VIBZ-Mixer series by LD Systems®. What’s more, the new Gravity® Mic Stands series now also bears the Red Dot, the international award for great design. Around 5,200 products and innovations spanning 57 countries competed for the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016. The international Red Dot jury only awards the coveted seal of quality to products that clearly stand out due to their excellent design.

A major innovation with regard to compact systems, the CURV 500® uniquely combines mobility, sound perfection and ease of use in a fully scalable system. In this system, column speakers can be equipped with up to four modular, curved arranged array satellites. The result is an extremely clear, three-dimensional sound – similar to the sound produced by big line arrays. The system can also be configured for a wide variety of applications: from solo appearances at a party up to a sound suited to smaller halls. The Entertainer Set, the strong Power Set and the visually discreet AV Set are the three basic configurations available that can be expanded and customized at any time.

Maui® 5 is an ultra portable columns PA system with Mixer and Bluetooth. At just 11 kg, it combines 800 watts of peak power, a maximum of 120 dB SPL, and an ultra-compact PA and monitor system in one system. These are the characteristics that distinguish the smallest member of the Maui family. The specially developed multi-pin connection system and the system consisting of just four components means that Maui® 5 can be set up in seconds. Further features include extensive dispersion and high resistance to feedback. Moreover Maui® 5 is easy to carry and fits comfortably into any car seat.

With the VIBZ Series, LD Systems is presenting a selection of different mixing consoles, which offer everything you need for high-quality sound output and professional performance. They are equipped with electronically balanced mic/line channels with XLR and TRS inputs plus phantom power, separate stereo input channels (incl. mono mode), and carefully balanced, “musical” EQs and effects loops (send/return).

Following two years of intensive development work with users and top designers, we created a sophisticated core range of musicians’ stands and accessories. The Gravity® brand uses multiple innovations, such as a customisable tag concept and a consistent focus on design, to challenge the often outdated image of accessories.

Experts from around the world
Judged by 41 world-renowned experts, and awarded according to strict rules, the Red Dot Award: Product Design is guaranteed to deliver excellent product evaluations. Only independent designers, design professors and journalists can be appointed to serve in the jury, and designers employed by potentially participating companies are specifically excluded.

This strict but fair approach lets the independent expert panel judge each entry live and on site against criteria such as degree of innovation, formal quality, functionality, and ecological compatibility. Professor Dr. Peter Zec, Founder and CEO of Red Dot Awards: “Through their products, Red Dot winners not only represent extraordinary design, but they also show that design is an integral part of innovative product solutions.”

The culmination of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016 takes place in Essen on 4th July. The Red Dot: Best of the Best winners will accept their prizes in the award ceremony in front of approximately 1,200 guests. The winners will receive their certificates and celebrate surrounded by winning products in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen at the “Designers’ Night” after-show party. The winning products will be showcased in a special four-week exhibition “Design on Stage”, before they become part of the permanent collection.
