Our Step onto the Green Stage: With our EMAS verification.
Since fall 2024, we have been officially verified under EMAS at our headquarters in Germany. We are one of the few technology companies in our industry to have reached this significant milestone. Anyone who knows our company understands that sustainable management at the Adam Hall Group does much more than conserve resources. We take responsibility for all our ecological, social, and economic business activities. And this responsibility is not just an intention, but it’s based on quantifiable and validated metrics. After all, good intentions without measurable results are a kin to New Year’s resolutions – quickly forgotten. This is where the “Eco-Management and Audit Scheme”, or EMAS for short, comes into play.

EMAS: More than just a label
EMAS verification is not just “another green label”. As the world’s most demanding environmental management system, EMAS provides a strong foundation for defining clear sustainability targets and making their achievement measurable. For us, it is not a goal in itself, but a systematic method that creates transparency: we can document progress, clearly identify vulnerabilities, and continuously improve. EMAS verification doesn’t only allow us as the Adam Hall Group to set an example for our company but also for the entire event industry. Sustainability is not a trend, but a core mission that we’re giving our all to realize.

One step further towards a well-founded sustainability strategy
With the Adam Hall Group attaining EMAS verification, we are pleased to have taken an important step towards our overarching goal: the implementation of a long-term and fundamentally sound sustainability strategy.
“With EMAS verification, we’re setting a clear example for systematic corporate responsibility. I firmly believe that our sustainability efforts not only better protect the environment, but also ensure economic success over the long term.”
Alexander Pietschmann, CEO of the Adam Hall Group
The EMAS cycle: Plan, Do, Check, Improve
The EMAS system is based on a clear and proven process:
- Plan: collect data and analyse opportunities
- Do: define and implement measures
- Check: review goals and commitments
- Improve: evaluate results and adjust targets
Then the cycle starts all over again – continuous improvement that puts sustainability at the heart of our actions.
Sustainability at the Adam Hall Group
Alongside carbon accounting and sustainability reporting, EMAS verification is just one of our three major sustainability projects. A lot has happened since the launch in spring 2023: we have successfully reached our first goal of establishing a customized and externally verified environmental management system. EMAS verification automatically certifies us in accordance with the globally recognized ISO 14001 standard. The fact that this standard is part and parcel of EMAS verification demonstrates the criteria’s comprehensive and demanding nature.
A reason to celebrate – and to continue our work
We are setting standards as one of the few companies in the event industry to be verified. This motivates us to keep taking responsibility, improve our results, and actively help shape the future.
So, let’s take a moment today to be proud of our achievements. And tomorrow, we’ll carry on, with great fervour, to record, measure, and improve – for a more sustainable event industry.
