Christmas atmosphere in Barcelona: Cameo illuminates the façade of Gaudí’s Casa Batlló
With around one million visitors a year, the Gaudi House (Casa Batlló) in Barcelona is one of the most popular sights in Barcelona – a must for anyone who wants to experience the work of Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí in its purest form. Currently, the Gaudi House with its unmistakable waves and colours is illuminated with a Christmas architectural lighting. A total of 13 Cameo ZENIT® W600 SMD Outdoor SMD LED Wash Lights with RGBW LEDs are in use.
The 3-minute light show starts every 30 minutes during Advent, Christmas and New Year and wraps the façade in a changing blaze of colour to the accompaniment of music. For this purpose, the Albadalejo team placed the ZENIT W600 SMD on the numerous balconies of the building. As these only offer a small projection from the building, the wide 118° beam angle of the Wash Lights proved to be ideal for illuminating the façade in changing colours over a large area, even from a short distance.
“Right from the start, the ZENIT W600 SMDs impressed us with their enormous colour light intensity” confirms the Albadalejo team, who tested the outdoor wash lights in advance against other competitors and used it for the first time for Casa Batlló. In particular, the low loss of intensity towards the edges and the IP65 certification were convincing to such an extent that the team at Albadalejo has already invested in 36 additional Cameo ZENIT® W600 SMD units.
