Press: Every detail well thought out – two new power amplifiers series from Audac for fixed installations and mobile use
With the SMA and SMQ series, Audac presents six Class D amplifiers in two and four-channel versions, which are characterised by outstanding audio quality and maximum flexibility. Through their WaveDynamics™ technology, the new models offer a variety of features for digital signal processing.
With performances of 350, 500 and 750 watts per channel, particularly efficient switching power supply technology and a very low weight below 8.5 kg, the SMA and SMQ power houses are ideally suited for fixed installations and mobile use; an RS-232 interface allows for simple system integration.
A 2.5″ LCD display provides a clear overview of all functions such as: lowpass, highpass and bandpass filters; the 7-band EQ with selectable frequencies and Q-factor; delay, limiter and a dynamic bass boost. The inputs can be assigned at will to the output channels via a matrix; the maximum output level can be pre-adjusted. The configuration is easy using controls on the front panel; the access to the power amp is restricted on “administrator” and “user” levels through password protection and USB stick.
For fast setting of the Audac SMA and SMQ power amps, a preset library with speaker settings and complete system configurations is available, and can be easily loaded via a USB stick.
The inputs are designed as XLR jacks; the outputs are Speakon compatible. Both terminals also provide clamped connections. With a high noise ratio of 95 dB and a very low total harmonic distortion below 0.05%, the SMA and SMQ amplifiers have set a new standard for low-cost power amplifiers. They are recommended for demanding audio installations in clubs, pubs, hotels, restaurants, shops and public buildings as well as for easily transportable PA applications.
