Flexible sound at Studio Green – the leading K-POP content studio in Seoul relies on LD Systems

Studio Green is located in the centre of Gangnam, Seoul. The modern content studio specialises in music and video productions as well as live performances and offers 330 m2 of space for up to 40 guests – the ideal location for live shows, music videos, interviews, talk shows and album cover photo shoots. For the sound system, its operators turned to the Korean LD Systems and Gravity distributor KOIL, who equipped the studio with a compact and versatile audio system from LD Systems.

As the production requirements at Studio Green are constantly changing, the focus was on positioning and aligning the speakers to offer as much flexibility as possible. KOIL combined the MAUI 28 G3 column system with the CURV 500 miniature line array. While their mobility and performance mean that the two MAUI 28 G3s are the ideal choice for varying production requirements without compromising on sound quality, the CURV 500 was chosen primarily for live performance setups.

The Studio Green setup comprises two flown arrays, each with three CURV 500 S2 array satellites and two CURV 500 I SUB 10″ installation subwoofers. A CURV 500 I AMP 4-channel Class D installation power amplifier is used to drive the system. The sound dispersion of the CURV 500 was also precisely calculated using EASE Focus and acoustically tuned to the room. In addition to the sound quality, the studio’s technical team was particularly impressed by the system’s ease of installation and set-up.

Easy to install

The innovative SmartLink® adapter with its patented click mechanism allows up to six array satellites to be connected to each other without cables or tools. Moreover, the CURV 500 TM B truss mounts made it easy to mount the arrays on the ceiling without disturbing the clean look of the Green studio. The equipment is rounded off by a range of different gravity stands for the varying application scenarios.

By collaborating with KOIL and LD Systems, Studio Green is taking the next step forward.
