Versatile sound in the Middle Kingdom – LD Systems audio installations in China

In Shanghai and Beijing, deep in the south in Guangzhou, or in the 16-million-inhabitant metropolis of Chengdu in the western province of Sichuan – audio installations with LD Systems products can be found everywhere in China. Together with our Chinese distributor Eatrend AV Technology, from Shanghai, we are embarking on a short (long) journey through this huge country.

Shanghai

It all starts in the large lecture theatre of the East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) in Shanghai. A suspended MAILA S line array system consisting of three MAILA SAT satellites and a MAILA SPA amplifier module provides the sound for the audience, supplemented by two MAILA SUB 2× 15″ high-performance subwoofers. Two STINGER 8 G3 2-way bass-reflex PA speakers positioned in the centre of the truss provide front-fill support for the first rows. The floor monitors on the stage are two ICOA 12 coaxial 12″ PA loudspeakers, which, with their 55° tilt angle, ensure optimum dispersion for the speakers on stage.

Beijing

The journey continues in the Chinese capital. For the large lecture theatre of the Beijing branch of the Dalian Senior Management College, two MAILA arrays of three MAILA SATs and one MAILA SPA each were mounted on the ceiling using MAILA EasyMount+ mounting adapters. Wireless microphone systems from the U500 series in headset, lavalier, and handheld versions are available for voice transmission. Several ZONE X 1208 D DSP matrix processors act as the audio signal centre.

Next stop is the Zhongguancun Forum in Beijing, an annual forum for scientific and technological innovation with international guests and speakers. STINGER G3 loudspeakers in various sizes (10″, 12″, 15″, 18″ sub) were used for the sound reinforcement of central exhibition areas.

Baotou

LD Systems’ sound has also made its way into Inner Mongolia. The Baotou City Environmental Protection Bureau, for example, opted for a CURV 500 PS Portable Array System to provide sound reinforcement for its central meeting room. The complete stereo system consisting of two 10″ bass reflex subwoofers with integrated Class D amplification and eight CURV 500 S2 array satellites is positioned to the left and right in front of the raised chairman’s table and provides sound for the medium-sized room with several rows of tables and seats.

Guangzhou

From now on it will be more musical! KTV is THE synonym for karaoke in Asia. There are countless KTV clubs and bars in every city. This is also the case in Guangzhou in southern China. Two CURV 500 arrays, each consisting of four CURV 500 S2 array satellites, were installed at the front of the room to provide sound reinforcement for a booth with a central round table and large LED video wall, ensuring excellent sound for singing and having fun.

Chengdu

Our trip to China ends in the city of Chengdu in the famous Sichuan province. The local integrator distributed a total of ten STINGER 12 G3 2-way bass reflex PA speakers around the room to provide sound reinforcement for a small folk music bar with a central stage.
