Fun, entertainment and business – Profox relies on LD Systems and Cameo for Fun Art Blokhus in Denmark

Experiences and activities for the whole family: the Fun Art Blokhus in North Jutland, Denmark, is a combined indoor/outdoor activity park that unites games, events, and catering together. In the completely newly built leisure park, guests can go trampolining, play boules and minigolf, unleash their creativity in the in-house ceramics workshop, or attend one of the many concerts. For these purposes, the operators built their own event hall, which the responsible integrator Profox ApS then outfitted with a vast number of Cameo fixtures. Fun Art Blokhus also offers several bookable meeting rooms equipped with permanently installed sound systems from LD Systems.

One day, there’s a big concert taking place in the event hall, followed by an art exhibition the week later, surrounded by many small events happening in the meeting rooms. As a result, we needed solutions that could be used as flexibly as possible.”

Lighting in the Fun Arts event hall

Since the event hall is used for both concerts and art exhibitions, the quality of the colour reproduction played a decisive role in selecting the lighting. A total of 60 Cameo F1 FC Fresnel Spotlights live up to this requirement perfectly. The compact fixtures with RGBW LED have a high CRI (> 90) and a large zoom range (14° to 54°), and their colour temperature can be continuously adjusted between 1600 K and 6500 K. While the F1 FCs are used as audience lighting in concert operations, they serve as ambient lighting for the alternating exhibits in exhibition operations. “We opted for the F1 FC because they don’t only have vibrant colours, they are also light and compact and enable quick conversion work,” confirms Søren Kabbel Dalgaard.

Profox selected the F1 T Fresnel Spotlights with Tungsten LED for the front truss above the stage. AZOR S2 Spot Moving Heads are placed on other truss positions and are also used in the two rear trusses. ZENIT Z120 G2 LED PAR fixtures can also be found here: “The AZOR S2 and the ZENIT Z120 G2 make a perfect pair and complement each other perfectly,” says Søren Kabbel Dalgaard. “The ZENIT Z120s in particular impressed us with their large zoom range, allowing us to create a variety of looks for concerts.” The Cameo lighting in the event hall is rounded off by the H1 FC LED house lights, which were placed along the walls from above and below and give the large room a cosy, warmer tone – and also radiate vibrantly on special occasions such as Christmas.

Sound coverage in the meeting rooms and play areas

Eleven meeting rooms of different sizes can be found on the grounds of Fun Art Blokhus. This is where the slim installation speakers of the LD Systems SAT series are deployed. Depending on the size of the room and the LED touchscreens in place (between 52” and 86”), Profox opted for the SAT 242 G2 with 2 × 4” equipment or the SAT 442 G2 with 4 × 4”. “The SAT speakers are the ideal choice for meeting rooms thanks to their compact size and the ability to match the housing colour to the room in question,” says Søren Kabbel Dalgaard. In the foyer and in the meeting rooms, Profox also installed the frameless CFL 62 two-way installation speakers as a 100 V version, supplemented by several DQOR installation speakers for the public play areas.
