Thinking Outside the Box: German Start-Up KRUU Uses Gravity Stands & Cameo LED Spotlights for New ‘Fotobox’ Offering

The KRUU Fotobox from the German start-up KRUU is a portable rental photo-booth, which allows users to print lab-quality snapshots immediately on the spot and make them available in an online gallery to share as desired with friends and acquaintances via social media. With their products and services (including the KRUU DJs), KRUU founders Jochen, Oli, and Philipp are pursuing their vision: premium event planning that is simple enough for everyone to be able to accomplish. For the development and production of its photo-booths, KRUU turned to the Adam Hall Group, manufacturer of event technology solutions, and is now using customised stands from Gravity Stands and customised LED spotlights from Cameo Light.

Custom-Manufactured in Large Quantities
The Adam Hall Group supplied KRUU with 1,300 Gravity SP 5211 W speaker stands, as well as 1,300 THUNDER WASH 100W 3-in-1 LED spotlights. While the stands were shortened by only 35 mm for bespoke use in the KRUU Fotobox, for the Cameo Thunder Wash 100, the Adam Hall Group manufactured a custom enclosure in traffic white (RAL9016) with a fixed colour temperature of 4000 K, a CRI value > 90 and a front-mounted frosted glass bezel.

“For our Fotobox we were looking for well-designed, high-quality and reliable products that meet all requirements, standards and regulations”, explains Oliver Grünberg, a qualified engineer and one of the founders of KRUU. “We were already impressed with the standard versions of both the Gravity stands and the Cameo Light spots. In fact we could have used them as they were. The option to customise them to suit our needs even more – dimensions, LED configuration, special colour – further reinforced our purchase decision.”

Powerful LED Flash
The KRUU Fotobox is manufactured in full compliance with all standards and guidelines. In practice, the user mounts the booth on the Gravity speaker stand in just a few simple steps. The camera is conveniently activated via the integrated 7″ touch screen. And thanks to the Cameo Thunder Wash 100W LED installed as a flash unit, professional-quality photos are possible, even in dark conditions.
