Press: East Meets West: Siam Music Yamaha – Adam Hall Group

Neu-Anspach, Deutschland – 21 Dezember 2016 – Siam Music Yamaha Co., Ltd. signs exclusive distribution partnership for Thailand with the Adam Hall Group. The partnership is a very unique one, in which a leading Japanese brand in Thailand joins forces with a German manufacturer to serve the pro audio and event technology industry.

As part of the Siam Motors Group, one of Thailand’s longest-established conglomerates and regional powerhouses for more than half a century, Siam Music Yamaha Co., Ltd. (SMY) serves as its professional audio division. The main division within Siam Motors Group is automotive, in which Nissan cars and pick-up trucks are assembled along with the distribution of the Nissan brand nationwide. Its pro audio division has seized the opportunity to serve the country’s music education market and has partnered with Yamaha Music School, Thailand’s current leader in music education.

SMY has a current dealer network of 150 partners, which are divided between system integrators, retailers and wholesalers. As part of the Yamaha Corporation in Japan, SMY has its showroom, office, service center and an impressive auditorium taking up four floors of the Siam Motors Tower located at Rama 1 road.

The initial idea started when Dr Perawat Chookhiatti, Managing Director, Siam Music Yamaha Co., Ltd, met Chandan Mahtani, Managing Director, Adam Hall Asia Pte at the Pro Light & Sound in Shanghai in 2015 and had a brief discussion about the possibilities of distribution of Adam Hall products in Thailand.

“I see the benefit of having Adam Hall brands within our group, this is as an expansion to the current SMY range of products,” said Dr Perawat. “It will also fill in the gaps in various categories, which we are currently not representing and I know our dealers will be delighted to have a one-stop source solution.”

“Partnering with a Japanese company in Thailand represents a big and exciting shift. In our opinion, SMY is the best candidate we could have in Thailand. We are happy to acknowledge that we could contribute to the expansion of SMY although they have a great brand like Yamaha. We are confident to add value to their overall business by way of our product range and close communications,” expressed Mr Mahtani.

SMY is currently developing an Adam Hall Group showroom in Bangkok to be fully operational by February 2017.

“The partnership between Siam Music Yamaha is a great step forward for the Adam Hall Group in Thailand and we expect substantial synergies between both parties. As we complete the Asian circuit, it is satisfying to see our aim for well-established partners has been successful,” concluded Bodo Falkenried, Head of Global Business Development for the Adam Hall Group.
