LD Systems at 2016 Summer NAMM

Summer NAMM took place in Nashville Tennessee, the heart of the country music industry, from 23 to 25 June 2016. Trade visitors from all over the world made the pilgrimage to Nashvilles Music City Center, where the focus was on guitars and other instruments. Among the exhibitors was the Adam Hall Group brand LD Systems®.

The stand at Nashville’s Music City Center was planned and organised by the Musical Distributors Group (MDG), the Adam Hall Group’s exclusive US distribution partner for the brands LD Systems®, Palmer® and Cameo®.

LD Systems® products were the main focus of the show: the CURV 500®, the first truly portable array with WaveAhead® technology for high-definition audio quality, and the Maui® 5 ultra-portable column system. Both systems are characterised by outstanding sound and mobility and have also already won several design awards. The combination of the Stinger MIX 6 A G2 with its integrated mix unit and compact size and the Stinger Mix 6 G2 passive speaker was also able to impress on the LD Systems® stand, especially during the numerous live performances.

MDG installed two powerful LD Systems® Maui® 44 column PA systems in the trade show’s hall and high-footfall entrance area. These active systems, each with an impressive total output of 1,600 watts RMS, were used, for example, to blast out the live performance of the legendary Charlie Daniels Band on the main stage in the outdoor area, which created a terrific atmosphere. The two huge speakers were also used to transmit live music throughout the trade show.

As a result of its special focus on guitars and instruments, Summer NAMM is not so much aimed at the pro audio sector. The Musical Distributors Group therefore made particular use of the opportunity to speak to potential retailers without major competitors from the pro audio environment. As Summer NAMM is also of a very manageable size, several retailers spent a long time at the LD Systems® stand and greatly enjoyed the live performances that were put on there.

Steven Savvides, President of the Musical Distributors Group: “Many visitors came to see us at the stand to find out about the Maui® series – primarily because they were impressed by the power, clarity and wide-ranging sound dispersion of the two Maui® 44 speakers in the hall area. Most of those who visit Summer NAMM do not attend Winter NAMM. This enabled us to present the LD Systems® brand to a completely new retailer segment.”

The trade show highlights included not only the live music performances on the LD Systems® stand but also the ‘TOP 100 Dealer Awards’ and the ‘Best Of’ awards. Some 13,000 professionals visited 2016 Summer NAMM from 23 to 25 June. Savvides summed up that the favourable location of Nashville Tennessee, which is only a six or seven-hour drive from many of the USA’s major cities, makes Summer NAMM a very convenient place to visit. The Musical Distributors Group plans to return to Summer NAMM in 2017 – but with an even bigger stand next time!
